"in some rare and sacred dead time, sandwiched between the late sleepers and the early risers, there is a miracle of silence.
eveything has stopped.
and silence drops down from out of the night, into the city, the briefest of silences, like a falter between heartbeats, like a darkness between blinks...
and this is a pause worth savouring, because the world will soon be complicated again."
- jon mcgregor, if nobody speaks of remarkable things

i think, this must be the time he writes about. i think, in awhile, it'll be the language and the song of another city i'll be hearing, the world will be complicated somewhere miles and miles away. i think of wings, of flight, of timezones and days and nights and days becoming nights and nights becoming days. i think of the only 57% chance it'll snow in toronto, and of snowflakes in their flawless symmetry. ok taxi's waiting bye.
